As a way to explore quotidian routines, I recorded the sounds of my day, from morning to night. Clock Work consists of one-second intervals of these recordings, playing back on four speakers, on which the sounds rotate clockwise within the installation space – following the systematic operation of the second-hand of a mechanical clock to represent fragments of my working life. The sounds contain transients of objects handled throughout the day, alongside conversations from work, and with strangers and friends. An immersive environment, Clock Work plays on an indefinite loop to signify the repetitiveness of routines and activities of a working life.
