Intervals is comprised of an array of second-hand clocks, hung alongside each other on a wall and united at the base of the installation through their cascading wires.
A motion sensor activates the clocks when it detects activity around its presence and deactivates after a certain period of time when there is nobody present or there is no movement within its vicinity. Contact microphones are installed within the clocks, capturing and amplifying their ticking sounds. The combination of the sounds from each of the clocks creates a percussive symphony that is uniquely composed every instance that the clocks are activated.
