Photography for Self-Assessment is a series of images using a flatbed scanner in which I attempt to escape the (scanner's) lights while constantly being squeezed in between of the cover and the surface. The resulting images are a self-portrait that captures exhaustion and disquietude. The work represents the struggle of trying to escape mental distress by evoking the act of being constantly closed in onto the (flat)bed and ultimately trapped into an immortalized image of the self.
